Matt is one of the top Master Sports/Tactical Performance Development and Rehabilitation Specialist in the USA.
Matt holds a Masters Degree in Science and Healthcare Promotion from California University Of Pennsylvania with his primary concentration being in Biomechanics. He holds the top certifications in Strength, Conditioning, Speed, and Explosive Power Development as well as having the top clinical certification for practitioners in Cancer Rehabilitation.
His philosophy in sports and life has been his registered trademark called, “Create Separation". Matt has been a life changing influence for athletes and for patients for 30 years.

Matt spent parts of his childhood on several college football fields with his father, Martin Poe, who coached offensive linemen as well as directed many strength and conditioning programs. His dad is considered as the "OG of Strength and Conditioning" at Vanderbilt University. He is also considered one of the OGs in in strength and conditioning in the SEC and other conferences.
Martin mentored some of today's top strength coaches such as the Texas great, Jeff "Mad Dog" Madden, and the Vol's famous John Stucky, to mention a few.
Matt chose to walk onto the University of Tennessee Football Team and became a letterman, a weightlifting record holder, and an All-Academic South Eastern Conference for the Vols.
He was a part of the Vol’s 1992 Hall of Fame Bowl Team, the 1993 Citrus Bowl Team, and the 1994 Gator Bowl Team. He graduated high school from Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee where he was a four-sport letterman.
Known as the “PushPress King” (a compliment given to him by Three Time World's Strongest Man, Bill Kazmaier) in the sport of strongman and powerlifting, Matt boasts several lifts that no other has performed in the world, such as his famous snake lifts and barrel lifts among an array of over 200 more demonstrations and exhibitions. Matt was one of the top finishers in The 2005 Atlantis Strongest Man In America Contest. " Matt Poe PushPresses like most men benchpress. He is currently working on his book, The Poe Pushpress Methodos, which uses Geometric Statistics to determine the probabilities of explosive power to complete the lockout of a pushpress.
Matt has also had a successful career in sports in the area of biomechanics instruction. His speed development and strength training programs have been uses by athletes and coaches all over the world. He has done extensive training as a special instructor for United States Special Operations and Special Forces personnel.
Matt has been featured on ESPN for his outstanding overhead pressing talents and overcoming a catastrophic back injury. The Nashville based, Poe’s Gym, has been a filming location multiple times for Warner Brothers and was the setting for the movie, Journeyman, which was a finalist at the LA Film Awards (LAFA).
He also has extensive experience in healthcare including technological customization, new business development, and public relations. His focus in healthcare has been in building therapeutic service lines and in aiding in improvement of existing service lines. He has worked in hospital settings, in corporate settings, and has built private healthcare and sports facilities.
Some of his major work has been in orthopedics, oncology, bariatrics, radiology, sports medicine and human performance, wellness, and disease management.
He has worked with some of the top orthopedists in the USA leading and designing a study on the Tommy John Surgery, featured in the New York Times.
He is a former National Football League Players Association Representative for the Nashville Chapter with national guidance from Gene Upshaw.
He is a board member for the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research and for Atofia Cryptography. He has been nominated by Tennessee’s former Governor Bill Haslam on behalf of the President of the United States of America as an active member of the Selective Service Board.
Matt still enjoys performing lifting demonstrations, exhibitions, seminars, and coaching sports and tactical athletes. He is an active member of The Omega Force Strength Team Christian Ministry.
Matt just executed his 206th exhibition on 9/2/24 since 1995.
